Red Oak

Q. rubra · Red Oak wood is great in strength and hardness. The wood is very resistant to insect and fungal attacks because of it's high tannin content.

Heartwood is light reddish brown, often with pinkish or flesh colored tinge. It also has very appleaning grain marking.

Red Oak is of high value as lumber and veneer. It is used in flooring, veneer, interior trim and furniture.
